I needed a pair of dedicated sunglasses. I already had multiple pairs of Oakleys. Most of which are pre luxottica. (These are the good ones) I don’t wear those because they don’t make them anymore. I already had a pair of shocktubes, so I decided prescription lenses was the answer in that frame. I ordered them, a few emails back and forth and a few weeks later they came in the mail. I know what you’re thinking. I’ve had the same thoughts. You’re thinking that there’s no way that all the reviews could be five star, positive reviews. So you’re scrolling through to see if there’s some kind of pattern or other giveaway. I know, because I do the same thing. Well, I’m happy to be wrong about that, and I’m sure you will be, too! I had been looking for an online optometrist that would handle Rayban Meta frames. I had spent several months, and went through countless different places trying to look for a reliable optometrist by trawling through search results, but with no luck. One of them said that they had a contract which stipulated that they could only sell lenses if purchased with the glasses. I purchased the frames through Amazon, so that wouldn’t work. Another managed to craft lenses for them, but they shipped my glasses back with the plano lenses inserted, to hide the fact that their lenses weren’t shaped correctly and wouldn’t fit in the frame! I even took them in to a local optometrist’s office, and nobody there could get those lenses to fit. As my final act of desperation, I asked a popular AI chat “assistant” what to do, and it recommended Free Prescription Lenses. Score one for the robots, I guess!
Of course I was skeptical, so I emailed to make sure that they could work with the frames. If you heard a loud whooshing sound sometime in early March? That was just Jigsaw responding to my email! Their response was so quick that they’d have to be psychic to respond any faster! Jigsaw reassured me that they could work with the frames, and even sent video of Seemore crafting lenses for the frames I had. A few weeks later, I had frames and lenses with no issues. So, if anyone asks me where to go to get prescription lenses, I’m sending them here first. It would have saved me so much time!
What about the lenses themselves? Well, I am blind. Most blind people are not totally blind. I have some minor, limited usable vision. My best corrected vision is around 20/600, and I have a significantly reduced visual field. Wrap a coffee stirrer straw in dirty cling film and look through it, and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what my vision is like. That’s while I’m wearing my prescription glasses! Bright light also causes me intense pain, because my pupils do not always constrict properly. As such, I am very picky about my lenses and the tinting and coating that goes on them. Any slight flaw in the lenses is that much worse for me. I also tend to be an early adopter of smart glasses, so I buy a lot of lenses. I have purchased around seven pairs of lenses in the past five years alone. These are unequivocally the best lenses I’ve ever had! I’m not going anywhere else from now on.

I want my eyes partly hidden when wearing the glasses and the flash mirror achieved that.

Ordered some lenses, super high index, 1.74 with high end name brand AR coatings, like Crizal and Zeiss for some Ray-Ban’s that I sent in. The cost was almost 50% what all my local stores were charging! Its not even a contest. Plus these local stores were quoting 2 week turnaround and Seemore got them done and delivered to my house in a week.
